Wake Up!

The boys on the couch take an in depth look at the issues surrounding the terrorist attack on Mumbai, India. Pakistan, Twitter, Social Media - everything was involved. Also, Black Friday had more deaths than usual this year. Lean about those sneaky snakes at AIG and an alternative energy source that can fit right on your backyard.

Matt | January 31, 2009In regards to Canadian politics, Evan you said we needed someone “charismatic, young, and with ideals” - you wouldn’t happen to mean the castrated by the media Stockwell Day would you. Hmmm, interesting. At that time, Canada didn’t want someone young and they made sure it didn’t happen. Perhaps Obama has changed us a bit and made us more receptive to the idea but until someone of the likeness of Obama presents his/herself what I think Canada needs more is to do with the parties. We need to ask if the present political parties are benefiting Canadians. At present, 31-01-09, perhaps we’ll get that. The lib leader seems like that perfect opposition leader who wants to get $*!& done by working with the conservatives but is going to hold them accountable for every claim, promise and action. I have hope - what do you guys think?
MAN you're far behind on episodes :) I wasn't very politically
Paul | January 31, 2009MAN you’re far behind on episodes
I wasn’t very politically involved when Stockwell Day had his little stint in public office. I don’t remember why he was castrated, the only media images of him I remember are in a wet suit on a jet ski
I DO remember thinking, when Harper took his place, that if they didn’t like the outgoing, exciting, young-looking Stockwell Day, Harper is the opposite on all counts!
Note: Upon reading the full wikipedia entry about him, I feel sorry for him. Looks like he was attacked for his religious beliefs (that sounds SO early 2000’s) and got lambasted for a lot of stuff that wasn’t his fault (CBC anchor making inappropriate comments re: his daughter-in-law, his speech writers and comment re: Niagara River flowing south, his staff not knowing that the place he’s doing a photo-op on the brain-drain just moved up from the US, his staff not getting permisison to use “Ordinary Day by Great Big Sea at a rally, in 1999 he called out a man who defended a guy convicted of child pornography and was sued for libel…). But of course, the MSM can’t tell the difference between him and his staff. To some degree, those you keep closest to you are a reflection of yourself…but how much of his staff would have been appointed by the Alliance party?
*sigh*
I always thought a leader was someone who unites and inspires people. In which case, we need to stop calling our PMs “leaders” and start referring to them as “chief administrators.”

Matt | January 31, 2009Far behind but no less passionate. This surgery is the perfect opportunity for me to catch up and stay caught up. It’s been a little nuts.
Well, at any rate, perhaps Day got what he deserved for not being able to control his peeps because that is part of being a good leader. We just have to wait for the next guy and go from there.
Other points on this episode
- I foresee fake car sounds on electric cars in place of mufflers just like fake camera sounds are in place of shutters
- I agree with both of you 100% regarding the auto bail out. It saves hundreds of thousands of jobs for now but we’ll find ourselves at this junction again somewhere down the road. (snicker snicker - down the road - auto companies). Change must take place. The auto companies are going under because people don’t want or need their products. Embrace the change!
